What We Ordered: -Heo Quay (Crispy Pork Belly) $7.50 -Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) $6.50 -Dac Biet (Special Ham) $6.50 This is my second review of Banh Mi Hoa Phat. I came back here as the wife was obsessed with their Thit Nuong and I loved their Heo Quay. This time when I came here I asked for a third recommendation. I was told to order the Dac Biet which is the Special Ham. It's a classic Banh Mi. It's a mixture of ham and Vietnamese Cold Cuts with some pate. My wife devoured her Thit Nuong, and I devoured my Heo Quay. My son was with us this time, and he tried both, he liked the Heo Quay, especially the crispiness of the pork belly. He didn't love either Banh Mi. I ate the Dac Biet and saved half for my son to try to see if he liked it. I figured he wouldn't like the pate as kids can be picky sometimes. He liked it.. a lot! He liked it so much that he ran over to me while still clutching a piece of bread, asking if there was anything left. We'll definitely be back again, as the wife loved the crispy pork belly so much that she had to get it. I will have to get my son his own Dac Biet.

Everything about this place checks all the boxes. Nice friendly guy at the counter that checks up on you and offers you free tea? Check. Bomb banh mi varieties with a flavor enhancer sauce on the side? Check. Crispy bread that's gonna cut your mouth because it's so damn fresh? Check. It's a tiny spot with a handful of seats but I usually find a spot every time I stop by. My friend introduced me to this spot because he says that the manager guarantees it's as authentic as it gets. He's not wrong. The banh mi reminds me of the carts in Vietnam and it always slaps. The manager is a nice guy that really cares about his product and his customers. He'll check up on you and make sure you're having a great experience. Can't say enough nice things about this place. Must try if you're a fiend for sandwiches.

Freshest bread and veggies. That crispy pork mmmmm yum! Must add extra pate if you are a pate fan! Great service- bring cash, or they charge a % if you pay by card. Will return whenever I crave for some crispy pork banh mi! It could get messy though, so eat there or go to the park and have a picnic!

First time trying this Banh Mi place in Monterey Park called Banh Mi Hoa Phat. (In the location of the former Smokey J Bakery cafe business). Glad I placed our orders by phone first because they have many to-go orders especially on the weekend. I ordered 2 roasted pork (banh mi heo quay) $7.50 each x 2, 1 special ham (banh mi dac biet) $6.50 and 1 grilled pork (Banh Mi Thit Nuong) $6.50 I didn't expect they have great service for to-go. But the guy was very friendly and he asked me if I wanted to have cup of hot tea and then he handed me one. The place is very welcoming and clean. I waited for about 10 minutes then I got my order. I also like the individual box packaging with the vegetables and house special sauces packed separately. My daughters and I really liked the roasted pork Banh Mi. I'm roasted pork lover and they made the roasted pork so crispy and flavorful even without their house special sauces. My hubby and my mom also liked their special ham sandwich and grilled pork sandwich. Banh Mi Hoa Phat is very competitive Vietnamese sandwich in the area because they taste so good and the price is right! Highly recommended! FYI, they accept cash & all card transactions. There will be a 3% non-cash adjustment on all card transactions though.

Saw that they will be closed from 1/20-2/17 and 01/01 for new years. Did the bread get smaller? It's feels like it did but it's still good. I love the crispy pork. Came here during lunch time and it came out pretty quick. There were people eating on the tables but the wait was short. Don't forget to use the sauce they gave you for the crispy pork banh mi

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and exceptional customer service that makes you feel truly welcome. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring your experience is top-notch. Their complimentary tea is such a thoughtful touch and adds to the cozy, inviting atmosphere. The food? Absolutely phenomenal! Their crispy pork belly sandwiches are a must-try--perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch and tenderness. And the best part? The prices are so reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you get. If you're looking for a spot with delicious food, a welcoming vibe, and great value, Banh Mi HOA Phat is it. Highly recommended!

Yum! Banh Mi Hoa Phat has the best crispy pork banh mi in the area. Their first two items are quite popular and do tend to sell out by the afternoon. I typically visit in the morning when their restaurant is filled with the sweet aroma of their crispy pork. Highly recommend. Their team is fantastic and offers iced tea to patrons who are waiting. Such a thoughtful touch. Parking is somewhat limited in the lot but street parking is available with a short walk.

I may never go back to a regular banh mi ever again. Their signature roast pork banh mi is my favorite Vietnamese sandwich now. Almost everything is made in house, from the French rolls baked on premises, to the pickled radish and carrots. They used to modify their own plastic take-out containers to best accommodate their sandwiches. Their care and eye for detail is amazing for a bang mi place. Their roast pork banh mi is a sight to behold, but the sandwich really comes into its own once it's in your face-- the cubes of roast pork have a nice crispy crunch that's perfect counterpoint to the rich, tender pork belly. It's like a perfectly balanced bite of fat, acid, sweet, savory, crunch, and velvety. The sauce they serve for the sandwiches is made from the pork belly cooking process and is one of the best condiments to pour onto your sandwich. The wait can be slow and the line often snakes out their front door. They make everything to order, and if you happen to get there too late?? No more pork belly. At their busiest times, don't expect them to pick up the phone. Still, for all these issues a Yelper might dock a star are more like challenges. The entrance to Hoa Phat is on the side street despite its Garfield Ave address. Parking is street or in the lot shared by the other business in that strip mall. Go early, before noon, if you want the best Vietnamese sandwich around

Ambiance: small shop with parking lot in the back and street parking. There are tables inside to dine in Service: would recommend coming in early to beat the rush but they have great service while you're waiting for your sandwiches. But great service while you're waiting for your bahn mi because they will go around serving tea. Food: I love the bread so much ( they make it in house). It's crispy on the outside but soft and chewy in the inside with a lot of substance. The crispy pork is a plus as well! Overall, love that this is available in the area and I don't have to go to OC to get my fix. Definitely something different from the other bahn mi shops in the area.
